Each month, we provide a brief overview of just some of the things they have achieved in the previous month.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spotlight on Romania<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddf7\ud83c\uddf4 <strong>Romania Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;recently held a community event to raise awareness and discuss ways to improve market competition. The event fostered enriching discussions on Internet governance, youth engagement opportunities, and the future of Benin&#8217;s digital ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\uddf2 <strong>Cameroon Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;published a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/isoc_cameroon\/status\/1932166122566214090?s=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a>&nbsp;on disinformation and online hate speech in the run-up to the 2025 presidential election.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddea\ud83c\udde8 <strong>Ecuador Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;held a&nbsp;webinar on privacy and cybersecurity to introduce the main concepts of encryption and to advocate for online safety. The webinar was well attended, with more than 50 participants actively engaged with questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\udded\ud83c\uddf9 <strong>Haiti Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;has&nbsp;successfully deployed 12 Internet service points, alongside community partners. These access points benefit 11 public and private universities across the country, providing a total bandwidth of 1.5 Gbps and improving connectivity for over 8,000 students, 445 lecturers, and 33 professors, reinforcing access to knowledge and research opportunities in underserved areas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chapter has also finalized the&nbsp;deployment of a community network in the city of Sainte-Suzanne, Haiti. This initiative was made possible through a collaborative partnership between the chapter, the municipality of Sainte-Suzanne, Fondation Transversal, and AFNIC. The network leverages a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite kit, meshed Wi-Fi access points, and an electronic voucher management platform to deliver equitable Internet access to the local population. This model ensures affordability, community control, and sustainable service delivery.&nbsp;This work was supported with an Internet Society Foundation Beyond the Net grant.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9Zj_R4K1ZFA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Watch<\/a>&nbsp;a video about the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf3 <strong>India&nbsp;Bengaluru Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;hosted an Internet literacy training session at a government school in a rural area of Karnataka. The workshop explored the transformative impact of agentic systems on industries, human-AI interaction, and digital governance. Organized in collaboration with Wipro, the workshop attracted over 200 participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf3 <strong>India Mumbai Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;held a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=S16hRPgn2mg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">webinar<\/a>&nbsp;entitled&nbsp;Quantum 101, exploring the fascinating principles of quantum mechanics and how things operate in the quantum realm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddf0\ud83c\uddea <strong>Kenya Chapte<\/strong>r partnered with Google&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.company\/projects\/taara\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Taara<\/a>&nbsp;project team to organize a local hybrid event on best practices in building resilient networks by small Internet service providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddf1 <strong>Mali Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;held the third cohort of the Internet Society\u2019s Designing and Deploying Computer Networks (DDCN)&nbsp;training&nbsp;for young women. 100 participants completed the online course, and 30 are currently going through the hands-on, in-person training. This important event was an opportunity to discuss the local challenges, help boost the local peering ecosystem, and ensure that the Internet is reliable and affordable in Senegal. The chapter ran a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ISOCTG\/status\/1930748737195851832\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">short campaign<\/a>&nbsp;calling on the government to keep the Internet on during a planned civil rights march. The event occurred with no reported Internet disruptions or shutdowns, a huge win for the people of Togo. After the march, the chapter published a <a href=\"https:\/\/internetsociety.tg\/2025\/06\/06\/linternet-society-salue-la-stabilite-du-reseau-le-6-juin-et-appelle-a-preserver-un-internet-ouvert-au-togo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a> congratulating the government for keeping the Internet on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-neutral-white-background-color has-background\"><strong>Which country shuts down the Internet the most? Find out on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pulse.internetsociety.org\/en\/shutdowns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pulse Internet Shutdowns Tracker<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddf7\ud83c\uddfc <strong>Rwanda Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;concluded a two-day workshop on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/isoc_rw\/status\/1930947073228124578\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Internet safety<\/a>, helping over 100 young people and adults to understand online scams and teaching them how to stay safe online. This initiative was funded by an Internet Society Foundation grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddf8\ud83c\uddf8 <strong>South Sudan Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;hosted a one-day IXP&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.internetsociety.org\/events\/peering-roadshows\/2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Peering Roadshow&nbsp;<\/a>and Workshop in collaboration with the Internet Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddfe\ud83c\uddea <strong>Yemen Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;held a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/isoc.ye\/posts\/pfbid07Wa9a5PzMwU5GAjGFNnkdf3QgHjrc8b532xPqMEg3QuCMEPRz255yNJeanhejbf6l\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">webinar<\/a>&nbsp;on Artificial Intelligence: Deep Understanding, Ethical Challenges, and Legal Frameworks.
