The event covered digital culture, telecommunications, cyber defense, Zero Trust, and cyber resilience, highlighting the importance of strong relationships with governments&nbsp;to advance trust and security online. This reflects the&nbsp;chapter\u2019s commitment to building strategic alliances for local impact and advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf3&nbsp;<strong>India Chennai Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;officially launched its Student Chapter at Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. Key highlights included reflections on how superintelligent systems could reshape technology, society, and human identity, while also provoking dialogue on the responsibilities and opportunities ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf1&nbsp;<strong>Israel Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;hosted the successful&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.isoc.org.il\/public-action\/digital-gap\/digital-gap-arab\/20-webna-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Webna 2.0 Conference<\/a>, focusing on digital innovation and the AI revolution within Arab society in Israel. Co-led by the chapter&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.isoc.org.il\/arab-forum-for-digital-inclusion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arab Expert Forum for Digital Inclusion<\/a>, the event brought together over 200 entrepreneurs, educators, and community leaders. Participants engaged in practical workshops on generative AI and misinformation detection, while new chapter research on AI usage in Arab society was presented, underscoring the commitment to bridging the digital divide and empowering communities for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddf0\ud83c\uddea&nbsp;<strong>Kenya Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;held a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ISOC_Kenya\/status\/1968269712414175523\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">technical webinar<\/a>&nbsp;entitled&nbsp;\u201cInternet 101.\u201d&nbsp;Around 115 participants gathered to discuss IP addressing, network routing, and&nbsp;the Domain Name System (DNS), helping to build digital literacy skills across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde6&nbsp;<strong>Manitoba Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;was featured on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/player\/play\/video\/9.6897549\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">local news<\/a>, which highlighted how the chapter is building a community network that will provide free Internet for 1,000 households in an underserved area of Winnipeg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-neutral-white-background-color has-background\">A community network is born when individuals come together to establish and maintain an Internet connection themselves\u2014Internet by the people, for the people. The event facilitated knowledge share among the local technical community, contributing to capacity building and the promotion of best practices in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf9&nbsp;<strong>Portugal Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;took a firm stand for online privacy and security by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/isoc.pt\/isoc-portugal-condena-de-novo-a-proposta-chat-control-da-ue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">publicly speaking out&nbsp;<\/a>against the EU\u2019s proposed Chat Control\/CSAM legislation. The chapter is actively raising awareness among Portuguese representatives about the proposal&#8217;s risks to end-to-end encryption and fundamental digital rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddf7\ud83c\uddf4&nbsp;<strong>Romania Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;launched a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.internetsociety.ro\/?p=3885\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">public campaign<\/a>&nbsp;against the EU\u2019s proposed Chat Control\/CSAM legislation to raise awareness and advocate for digital privacy. The goal was to ensure that the public and key decision-makers were fully informed about the dangers of mass surveillance and weakened encryption before the upcoming European Parliament&#8217;s vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddfb\ud83c\udde8&nbsp;<strong>Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;hosted a panel discussion on \u201cDigital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in the&nbsp;Context of Accessibility and Affordability of the Internet.\u201d The session explored how DPI can serve as a tool to expand access, reduce costs,&nbsp;and foster digital inclusion. The event inspired participants&nbsp;to&nbsp;continue advancing towards a more affordable and accessible Internet for everyone in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\udde6&nbsp;<strong>Ukraine Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;organized an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/isoc-ua.org\/na-bazi-naczionalnogo-universitetu-bioresursiv-i-prirodokoristuvannya-ukra%D1%97ni-vidbulsya-konkurs-robit-studentiv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">innovative contest<\/a>&nbsp;for university students on AI solutions for environmental monitoring. The event, which involved 37 students at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, aimed to inspire the next generation of leaders and expand the chapter&#8217;s engagement with the academic community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddfe&nbsp;<strong>Uruguay Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;co-organized DNS Week, which included sessions on DNS dispute resolution, Internet blocking, cybersecurity\u2014DNSSEC &amp; KINDNS, and best practices in routing, peering, and DNS. Over 35 participants were empowered with knowledge to understand the history of the Internet and contribute to shaping its future. The chapter also partnered with Benin Network Operators Group (NOG) to showcase how the Internet creates jobs for young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf3&nbsp;<strong>India School of Internet Governance (<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/insig.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>InSIG<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong>&nbsp;celebrated its 10th anniversary in September. InSIG is the collaborative initiative of the seven chapters in India:&nbsp;Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Trivandrum Chapters. InSIG featured sessions and workshops, as well as a special video message from Internet&nbsp;pioneer&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.internetsociety.org\/author\/cerf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vint Cerf<\/a>&nbsp;during the opening ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddfe&nbsp;<strong>Paraguay Chapter<\/strong>&nbsp;organized the first-ever Paraguay School of Internet Governance, bringing together over 300 participants for a journey of learning and exchange.
